Early Years
Louis Troy Austin was born on December 24th to parents Johanna and Troy Austin, but his parents divorced when he was very young, and when his mother remarried, he took his stepfather's name and became Louis William Tomlinson. He is from Doncaster, South Yorkshire, England, and he has 5 half-sisters: Charlotte "Lottie" Tomlinson, Félicité Tomlinson, Daisy Tomlinson, Phoebe Tomlinson, and Georgia Austin. Two of his sisters had a role in a television show called "Fat Friends", in which Louis had a role as an extra. He was active in the musicals and plays at his school, the Hayfield School and later, Hall Cross School.
The Beginning of a Star
Louis admits that his inspiration to try out for the X Factor was landing the lead role in his school musical, playing Danny Zuko in the school's production of Grease. Louis auditioned for the X Factor in 2010 at the age of 16. All three judges said yes to his performance of "Hey There, Delila" by the Plain White Tees.
